How to use FCKEditor 2.6.6 to work with images in your editor

STEPS to Upload a new image to your server and use this image in your page

  1. Click the image icon in the editor
  2. Click the Browse Server button.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the next screen and click the Browse Server button again to locate an image on your local drive you wish to use and click the open button to select the image.
  4. Click the Upload button to upload this image to your server.
  5. Locate the image in the image listing shown on screen and click the name of the image to select it.

Step 2 (Click the Browse Server button)

After clicking the image icon the Image Properties window will appear as below

Once the window opens, click the Browse Server button to open the image browser window

Step 3 (Scroll to the bottom of the next screen and click the Browse Server button again to locate an image on your local drive you wish to use and click the open button to select the image.)

After clicking Browse Server button a window will open to allow you to locate the image on your local drive you wish to upload. In this example we are looking to upload the Apple logo (gif) as shown below. Simply click the image and then the "Open" button to complete this step.

Step 4 (Click the Upload button to upload this image to your server.)

Scroll to the bottom of the screen again and now click the "Upload" button to request this image be sent to your server and uploaded to the desired directory for later use in your page.

Step 5 (Locate the image in the image listing shown on screen and click the name of the image to select it.)

After the image has been successfully uploaded you can now find it in the list and click it to select it.

Once clicked the image will be selected and the url will be pre-populated to the correct path and you will be shown a small preview window.

Step 5b

The final step is to simply click the "OK" button to complete the action and the image will be placed in your page at the location you had your cursor before step 1 above.
